about

Katie Mac wellness uses a holistic approach composed of natural interventions for changing the mind and body.

adventure, courage & experimentation

Katie finds joy in discovering things she has yet to discover. From the time she was a little girl she was interested in understanding how we “work” or don’t “work”. What “work” means in this context is, what Katie describes as, coherent wellness.

What is that secret ingredient to becoming self-actualized and experiencing one’s life in the way they choose for it to be? The quest to find the answer to this question has been one of adventure, courage and experimentation.

Katie’s academic decisions always reflected her desire to uncover her own self-actualization in order to deliver this knowledge to others.

She began in Pre Medicine and shifted to Sports Medicine. Graduating from the reputable Athletic Training Bachelor’s program at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Shortly after graduating she became a Certified Athletic Trainer with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).

Body Movement plays a significant role in coherent wellness. Katie became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She also completed her Level 1-4 in Classical Stretch and Level 1 of Essentrics created by Miranda Esmonde-White. This body movement technique unlocks the body’s potential through mobility and strength. It’s safe for all fitness levels and recommended for injury prevention and rehabilitation.

The mind-body connection is the cornerstone to self actualization. Katie is certified by the Canadian Massage and Acupressure Therapists Association (CMATA) and enjoys taking lessons on various bodywork techniques (visceral manipulation, cranial sacral therapy, muscle activation techniques, trigger point therapy, etc). Her Level 1: Academy of Meditation and Healing; Training in Power in 2010 was her introduction to the mind’s ability to heal the body. This set her on a path to discover teacher’s like Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Dr. Daniel Amen, Eckhart Tolle, Norman Dodge and Joseph LeDoux.

Katie’s understanding of “how we work” deepened; she decided to further her education in belief systems and how to transform them. She enrolled in the College of Core Belief Engineering founded by Elly Roselle in White Rock, BC. Katie completed her Associate Practitioner Certification after 3 years of intensive practice. These teachings and processes continue to be a monumental part of Katie’s approach to coherent wellness.

Wellness would not be complete without integrating the breath. In 2006, Katie experienced her first breathwork session from Integral Breathwork founder Denis Ouellette. At this very first session she realized the magnitude of healing and self actualization the breath can provide. Katie is a humble student to the teachings of the breath. She is certified as an Integral Breathwork Facilitator and practices all forms of breathing practices. Some of her favorites are taught by Dan Brule, Sondra Ray, Stanislav Grof, Leonard Orr, Wim Hof, Patrick Mckeown, Kasper van der Muelen, O2 Awakening, Gay Hendricks, Michael Grant White and Niraj Naik.
